ACCESSIBILITY STATEMENT
Loungest Limited wants LoungeMusic.co.uk to be usable by the widest possible audience, whatever technology or ability a listener brings to it.
Conformance status
This site is built to target the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at Level AA. We consider it partially conformant: most of the site meets the standard, and the exceptions we know about are listed under Known limitations below. We have not commissioned an independent audit.
What we have built in
- Every page starts with a skip link straight to the main content.
- All functionality, including the schedule tabs and the region menu, works from the keyboard alone. Tabs support the arrow keys, Home and End.
- Body and interface text meets or exceeds the AA contrast ratio of 4.5 to 1 against its background, and interface controls meet 3 to 1.
- Visible focus outlines are never removed.
- Every image carries alt text, or an empty alt attribute where it is decorative, and every embedded frame carries a title.
- Motion is limited to short entrance transitions, and all of it stops for visitors whose system asks for reduced motion.
- Page structure uses real headings in order, landmarks, and lists.
The accessibility toolkit
The button in the bottom corner of every page opens a toolkit that adjusts the site to your needs. It offers high contrast and monochrome modes, a reading guide, a large cursor, adjustable text size, increased line height and letter spacing, a more readable typeface, link highlighting, a stronger focus indicator, a control to pause motion, and a read-aloud option that uses your browser's speech engine. Your choices are stored in your browser and reapplied on your next visit. The toolkit is available in every language this site is published in.
Known limitations
Two parts of this site are supplied by other companies inside embedded frames. We cannot restyle or re-engineer what happens inside them:
- The audio player is served from Cloudflare Workers. Its controls are keyboard reachable and labelled, but its colour scheme, its wording and its internal markup are set by the provider, not by us. The high contrast mode in our toolkit cannot reach inside it.
- The contact form is served by TapTheNfc.com. It follows this site's dark theme, but its field labels, error messages and focus behaviour are set by that provider rather than by us. We have measured two contrast failures inside it that we cannot correct from outside the frame: the Privacy Policy and Terms of Use links in the consent line sit at 3.2 to 1, and the red asterisk marking required fields sits at 3.6 to 1, where Level AA asks for 4.5 to 1. The asterisk is not the only indicator of a required field, so no information is carried by colour alone. If the form is a barrier for you, call us instead on +44 (0)161 394 0791 and we will take your enquiry that way.
We have raised both of these with the suppliers concerned.
Telling us about a problem
If you hit a barrier anywhere on this site we want to hear about it, and we will treat it as a fault to be fixed rather than a request. You can reach us two ways, and you never have to use the contact form if that form is itself the problem:
- By telephone on +44 (0)161 394 0791.
- Through our contact form.
Please describe the page, what you were trying to do, and the assistive technology or browser you were using. We aim to reply within five working days.
If you are not satisfied with our response, you can escalate the matter to the Equality Advisory and Support Service in the United Kingdom, or to the equivalent body where you live.
Technical detail
This statement applies to loungemusic.co.uk and all of its language versions. The site is a set of static HTML pages and relies on HTML, CSS and JavaScript. Where JavaScript does not run, all content and navigation remain readable and usable; only the accessibility toolkit, the consent controls and the schedule tabs need scripting, and the schedule content stays reachable without it.
